The header alone says it all, but I’ll elaborate some. This week, has introduced Grand Theft Auto 5, the latest game of violence, that has gained more momentum, and has made more sales, than the new Iphone 5s, and that new iphone is on back-order for most. Violence is marketable and we all know it. It’s just a disgusting way, to make money that way. Especially, for those kids and some adults, that love that sort of thing. They won’t act in a particular way of violence in public, but within a game as that, anything goes and it’s all possible. I’ll admit, I used to play Call of Duty games, and the sensation of being in a “war” state of mind, was pretty intensifying, but it reached a point of boiling anger and high blood pressure, whenever I would lose.
Their is more violence that we are exposed to, in a daily basis and some don’t even realize because it’s become a normal way of life. Movies like “The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy, The Bourne Ultimatum”, make for good movies, and reveal some ways of “doing things”, that would usually be “classified”, but reveal them in movies. It’s a good marketing tool, but not a good strategy for the U.S government, to reveal such things. Anyhow, my point is, just like it was in the beginning of this piece that violence and being the hero, is what is marketable. The days of civility are over, and the days of warmongering and violence, is just beginning….
