It’s true…We may breath in air, to fill our lungs, but what about the things we take in through our eyes and our ears. All the nonsense that is broadcasted on the radio, on television, in the movies and anywhere else we find advertisement. It’s all, for the benefit, of advertising and making money, leaving the consumer with distasteful ideologies and letting our poor children, to ponder and reflect on what’s being revealed to them. It seems only the young children channels, don’t advertise make-up, upcoming movies, or the latest games…We can forget about MTV, that channel has lost it’s credibility, years ago and the Disney Channel, can only wonder what their young counterparts, will eventually grow up to be and it’s been shown, that mostly, if not all, become sex symbols and/or drug addicts.
We, as adults, we take this in and can observe and discard it as mere nonsense, but what of our kids? They really do look up to these stars on their favorite channels and try to immortalize them. It’s hard to explain to my kids that, it’s all about the money. They don’t comprehend that, they just see, that their favorite stars, are on television and it’s cool. Kids don’t care about “behind the scenes” stuff, unless they’re there, to meet the celebrities themselves. It’s a one-way mirror, they our kids see….but we know the truth, we know how it is. But, to ruin their favorite shows, by telling them who the stars really are and how the business works, isn’t fair to them. It’s like telling my two year old son, that Santa isn’t real, that’s it’s me and mommy, who puts the gifts under the Christmas Tree.
If life could be so kind, as to breath in fresh air, to only let out, all the disgraceful things, that we’ve all done in our lives, that would be a grand standing applause, however, that is just a figment of our imagination. If God would grant you something, the very moment you thought it, what would you concentrate on the most to have? A better world for you, or for all? We may not have the gift of foresight, or the gift to change mankind, but we do have the gift of changing ourselves, and in turn, it would rub off on someone else, and so on…..
That’s how it starts, a chain reaction. So, like I said, air isn’t the only thing were taking in, we take in more than we can handle, but we certainly can control, what we release into the world.
