We have the examples of many before us, who indeed repented their sins and followed the Word of God. It’s difficult to imagine how we can live our lives, when their is just sin all around us, tempting us, taunting us. How would Jesus handle all of this today? For us, who are married and have children, it’s extremely difficult to have God in all our thoughts, and asking Him to guide us in all our steps, when we have little ones to raise and marriages to maintain and jobs to do. Life is free will and we decide which road to travel, but it is Him, who guides are steps. And along the way, it’s Satan who tries to make us stumble and ponder. That is his job, to undermine what we believe to be true and change our minds, of what God is about.
How nice it would be to learn early that to listen and follow what Jesus’ life was like and how He died for the ransom of all of us. With knowing that in mind, maybe people would have grown up with good decorum and humility. The more I learned, the more I came to the conclusion, that most haven’t learned or listening to the Word of God, that most were not raised with the fear of God. It takes much dedication, not to mention practice, to think of all we can do to save ourselves and others…with prayer that is, and to also think of God in all we do. It is not easy, but doable. To learn and to form a habit of doing all for God, even the most mundane act, takes lots and lots of practice and perseverance. For example, thinking of doing something for someone, should be for the act of doing it for God, not necessarily doing it for the person, but it’s a perk that you’re helping someone. Washing dishes?, do it for Him…cleaning your house?, do it for Him. Everything should and must be done, in the name of God.
I can’t say that enough, for those that are seeking Him. Satan is easier to call, than Jesus is, but in doing so…will destroy everything in your life. And remember, the closer you are to God, even just a glimmer given to Satan, will cause nasty effects.
